Public Safety Committee

The Quincy Public Safety Committee acts as a go-between for the Quincy City Council, community members, and the police department. The goal of the committee is to address public safety concerns and be a sounding board for the community, so the members can help the police department be more effective and better understand the needs of the community. The committee can also help provide community members with a better understanding of police department issues and policies.

The committee members are active city council members recommended and then approved by the Quincy City Council as a whole. The Public Safety Committee meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 4 pm in the Police Department. The meetings are not open to the public, if you wish to address the committee, please contact Administrative Assistant Brittany Lutz at the Quincy Police Department, 509-787-4718, and ask to be put on the committee agenda.

The Public Safety Committee tackles public safety concerns, gets monthly updates from the police department, and either acts or recommends items be forwarded to the City Council for approval.  Anyone who has something they want to talk about regarding police issues or how the police department can support or help them is certainly welcome to contact the Police Department.
