of Quincy Ethnic & Cultural Celebration
Saturday, August 4, 2007 from 11:00 a.m.
to 3:00 p.m. D Street SW in Downtown Quincy will become cultural
delight where you can sample cuisine from France,
Mexico, Holland, Germany and other cultures that make up our
community, watch ethnic craft demonstration and listen and watch
multi-cultural entertainment. Please join the Centennial
Committee for this unique "Taste" of Quincy's Many Cultures!

Quality Consumer Confidence Report will be mailed out to all water uses
in June. Copies are available at City Hall (104 B Street
SW), the Public Works Department (21 A Street NW) or on-line by
clicking on the header above. For question regarding the

Hours
The Quincy Compost Facility is
going back to summer hours as of April 3rd. The facility is open
Tuesday through Saturday from 10:15 am until 6:45 pm, closed 1:50 pm
to 3:10 pm for lunch. Compost
can be purchased at City Hall for $10 per cubic yard. Any
purchase of 51 cubic yards or more is at a rate of $8 per cubic
yard. For more

Prepayment for compost purchases
required at City Hall during normal working hours Monday - Friday
8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday pickup of compost must be
pre-purchased.
City
Hires New Police Officer
Luke Wyman was sworn
in at the February 20, 2007 Council Meeting by Sergeant Coleman of
the Quincy Police Department. Luke is a 2004 graduate of
Ephrata High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Law and
Justice from Central Washington University in March 2006. He
is a welcomed addition to the Quincy Police Department.

City of
Quincy Celebrates 100 years!
The City of Quincy is
having a year long celebration marking the 100th anniversary of it's
incorporation in 1907. The Mayor's Centennial Committee will
have various events throughout 2007 to celebrate. Watch for
upcoming events!

Compost Rates
Effective May 9,
2006, the City will now be able to sell compost in smaller
quantities. Ordinance 06-173 sets the compost rates as
followed:
Finished 5/8" minus or course:
1/4 cy
$3.00
1/2 cy
$5.50
1-50 cy $10/yd
51 or more cy $8/yd
Compost
will also be available for pick
up at the City Yard as well as the Compost Facility.

Lawn Party & Wine Fest '06
The Reiman-Simmons
House is hosting the 2nd Annual Lawn Party & Wine Fest
Saturday, May 20th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The cost
is $35 per person and includes commemorative wine glass and wine
tasting of select Washington wines - meet the winemakers! Live
jazz music by "Easy Money" with Nancy Zahn and catering by Idle Hour
Cafe. Opportunities to win getaway packages and more!

Dru Gimlin 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
The 3rd Annual Dru
Gimlin 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is set for June 3rd in downtown
Quincy. Get a team and participate in this special event.
Dru, a Junior at Quincy High School in 2003, was an awesome athlete
that taken away from us too young due to injuries sustained in a car
accident. His friends started this tournament in his honor and
money goes to help athletes that can't afford equipment and for two
scholarships to graduating seniors. It is a day of fun and a
true basketball experience. If you play in Hoop Fest, this is
a great practice for you! Visit
