Public Works Utility Worker
The City of
Quincy is accepting applications for the position of Public Works
Utility Worker.
This position is responsible for performing a
wide variety of public works maintenance duties ranging from labor
activities requiring physical exertion to tasks requiring some
manipulative skills. This position may require skills to be performed
in the maintenance and repair of streets, water and sewer systems,
refuse collection and by the safe and proficient operation of backhoe,
grader, dump truck, street sweeper, sewer rodder, flusher, paint striper
and other heavy and specialized equipment. It is desirable that
the successful candidate for this position have a high school education
or equivalent and three years prior experience in this type of work.
This position requires a Class B Washington State Commercial Driver's
License (CDL). Experience in utility construction and equipment
operation is desirable.
This position shall be filled by appointment of the mayor and will
involve a six month probationary period, during which time the employee
may be dismissed for any reason at the sole discretion of the City of
Quincy. The successful candidate must become a member of Local
Union 760. Remaining a member in good standing is a condition of
continued employment.

labor.

Act exempt position.
Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 DOE
Requirements:
Equivalent
to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with
major course work in civil engineering or a related field is required
and two years of professional engineering experience is required.
Duties: Responsible for
performing a variety of professional engineering duties supporting the
construction of public works projects; designing, preparing or reviewing
projects for the development of City infrastructure to ensure compliance
and compatibility with existing systems and applicable codes, standards,
specifications and practices; conducting various field inspections and
plan reviews to ensure compliance with applicable engineering and City
standards; providing assistance and information to contractors,
engineering professionals and the general public; and performing related
work as required under the direction of the City Administrator.

Requirements: U.S.
Citizen, age 21, valid Washington State driver’s license, High School
Graduate or GED, WA State Basic Police Academy, currently employed
full-time as a police officer with a minimum of 24 months or 2 years
continuous full-time law enforcement experience as of the date of
application. A person whom has left active duty may still be considered
if they meet the 24 month experience and academy requirement and have
not been separated from duty for more than 6 months as of date of
application. Testing
procedure consists of Questionnaire, Resume and Oral Boards. The
Quincy Police Department consists of 12 full-time sworn police officers,
2 civilian dispatch/clerks, 1 animal control officer and 2 reserve
