SRO
Activity Report
-
February
2003
In February, the
program again proved the partnership between the school and the community is
essential. During this month, I have been concentrating on scheduling
training at the schools for staff and students. I have recently been teaching classes on Gang Awareness to
staff and students. I have also
been to the Alternative school and taught a class on Alcohol awareness.
I am scheduled for another Gang awareness class at Mnt. View school.
The Quincy Police
Department has been contacted by four separate seniors who are doing their
senior projects for the Police Department.
The projects include Pedestrian safety at Pioneer School, Quincy Police
Department Web site, Advertisement for Police Tip Line, and Graffiti removal.
Enforcement has also
been a major part of the SRO time spent this month.
The gang activity has continued however, most of the assaults this month
has been happening just after school is getting out.
Due to the continued problem with gang activity, the SRO has teamed up
with Mr. Bazaldua at Monument and will be teaching a gang awareness class to all
of the 5th grade and 6th grade students this next month.
The following is a
break down of the activity for the month of January:
