SRO Activity Report
- December 2002
Even though December
was a short month due to the start of Christmas break on December 20th,
the activity in the school did not seem to slow.
In December, two major
incidents occurred in the school district.
On December 5, 2002, a
laptop computer was stolen from a classroom at Pioneer elementary School.
During the next week, the laptop computer (Valued at $1,600.00 + Software
$250.00) was recovered and two Quincy School district students were
arrested for the crime.
Also in December, we
have proven again the SRO program is working and the relationships being built
because of the program is benefiting the community.
For example, A Quincy Junior High School staff member intercepted a note,
which was being passed between students. The
note contained the location to a juvenile party for the weekend. During the weekend, Quincy Police Officers observed the
location and made contact with juveniles and adults at the residence.
Twenty-two arrests were made for numerous offenses, to include seizure of
the materials and equipment, which would support growing marijuana.
The SRO then returned
to patrol duties for the remainder of December: (19 additional crime reports on
patrol)
